We can classify animals in different ways.
VERTEBRATES AND INVERTEBRATES
According to the internal structure of their bodies, there are two main groups of animals: vertebrates and invertebrates.

2. Invertebrates are animales without a skelleton.
Molluscs, arthropods and worms, among others, are invertebrate animals.

VIVIPAROUS AND OVIPAROUS According to how they are born, we classify animals into: viviparous and oviparous. Viviparous animals are born from their mother´s womb. Oviparous animals are born from an egg. CARNIVORES, HERBIVORES AND OMNIVORES According to what they eat, we classify animals into: carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Carnivores are animals that only eat other animals. Herbivores are animals that only eat plants. Omnivores are animals that eat both other animals and plants. TERRESTRIAL, AQUATIC, AMPHIBIAN, AERIAL, AND ARBOREAL According to their habitat, we classify animals into: terrestrial, aquatic, amphibian, aerial, and arboreal. - Terrestrial: animals that live on land. Eg. Lions, cats, zebras… DOMESTIC AND WILD ANIMALS 1. Wild animals don´t live with people, they live in their natural habitat. They don´t have relationship with humans. Lions, zebras, elephants and foxes are examples of wild animals. |
2. Domestic animals live with people or on a farm.
Sheep, cows, horses, dogs and cats are examples of domestic animal.
